La La Lavender

I’m currently having a breakfast appetizer of banana bread as I wait for my steel cut oats to cook. This is my first time making steel oats and I didn’t realize they take 20 minutes to make! I’m used to my 90 second oatmeal but was in the mood for something a little heartier. I will probably top my oats with some milk and brown sugar…maybe a little coconut yogurt and a chocolate chip? LOL who am I kidding more like  5 chocolate chips.

I also went to Target yesterday to get more Almondmilk Creamer (have been obsessed with the Toffee Tidings flavor) and got distracted by the all the holiday flavors. I left with Sugar Cookie instead of the Toffee Tidings. Marketers sure know how to get me. Argh!

So it’s been cold. Freezing cold. It’s OK because I usually spend my day snuggled in a chair with Harry and Ruthie so we stay warm but we’re starting to go a little stir crazy staying inside all day. So yesterday Harry and I ventured out to do some errands and pick up ingredients for a lavender latte! I love lavender lattes and seeing the one in Duluth over the weekend made me want to make my own.

First things first. I had no clue where to get lavender buds…wtf is a lavender bud even? Target or Trader Joes do not have them. My next thought was whole foods but I didn’t feel like driving into the city. After fearing defeat, we drove past a little store called Fresh and Natural on our way home. Sure, what the heck. Might as well try, right?

BINGO. Fresh and Natural def has lavender buds. And many other fun/odd/cool things. The nice thing was that the buds were in the bulk section so you could take as many as you wanted. I love the smell of lavender and filled my little baggie up…the price per pound….$53! Thank god lavender weighs like nothing. I think my total for the lav was $3. I’ll be getting more of this stuff.

I also grabbed some decaf coffee (also in the bulk section) to make my latte because I’m trying to only drink one fully caff coffee a day (my morning cup with said Sugar cookie cream). Before leaving I tried looking for collagen because I am curious about the stuff and wanted a sample jar but only saw a large tub for like $40. Don’t need my hair and nails to grow that bad. Anyone have thoughts on collagen?

Lavender ❤

Back to latte. I started by making the lav syrup in the recipe. I boiled the water and buds and let it simmer. It smelled amazing. I’m adding a small strainer to my XMAS list because all we have is a giant spaghetti noodle strainer and a handful of the buds made it into my drink which was fine but not ideal.

2018-11-13 02.22.21 1.jpg

Sup bud?

Next step was to boil water and sugar then add the boiled lav juice to the sugar water. Pretty sure I may have burned my sugar a tiny bit but it was still yummy.

2018-11-13 02.22.19 1.jpg

See the little buds floating?

Then you basically let the syrup cool, brew some coffee (I used my French Press), and pour that into a mug. Now for the coolest part…the milk. All you do is heat up your milk (I used Fair Life Non fat because I like this kind the best and almond milk has not been my fave lately) for like 30 seconds then give it a good ole shake. Bing. Bang. Boom. Pour that on top and you have a lovely lavender latte.

2018-11-13 02.22.17 1.jpg

I Love Lav

I really want to learn how to make a flower or something with my foamy milk but I’m guessing I need a fancy espresso machine for that. Anyway, I’d highly suggest this recipe! It will hopefully save me $100 in fancy lavender lattes hehe. Then I can put that $ towards a nespresso. I found one on sale at Sur La Table and am hoping Santa brings it…or maybe I’ll get it for Harry LOL.

So the website that has the lavender latte also has a recipe for PB cup coffee creamer. I might try to make that today. Oh and pumpkin bread because you can never have enough pumpkin.

PS what do I use extra lavender buds for?

Cheerio!

Harry Takes on Duluth

Good morning pals. Harry is currently having a day. He’s been awake since 5 AM and seems to only settle down when I hold him. I can tell he is super tired but he won’t fall asleep. Come on buddy, get your rest!

I’m also still  not confident in my breast feeding skills and have been pumping and feeding him the bottle…at least he’s still getting breastmilk right? I just love him so much and want to make sure he’s getting enough nutrition.

I can’t believe how fast the days goes with a baby. I don’t do a whole lot but I feel like every time I look at a clock another hour has gone by.

Over the weekend we took a road trip to Duluth, MN to visit Aunt Molly. We left Friday morning and arrived to beautiful snowfall. You know, the big fluffy flakes that make you feel like you’re in a snowglobe? The flakes that make you want to listen to Christmas Music, decorate, and bake cookies? Yeah, those flakes.

Once we unloaded the car (I feel like I need a moving van for all our stuff now) and fed the bear, my sister and I took a little trip to the craft store to find a Holiday project we could make. Here is a glimpse of the project we decided on.

Turkey’s, Presents, and Trees…Oh my!

Dinner that night was at the Tavern on the Hill where I indulged in a lovely glass of wine and creepily stared at my baby. For dinner I went with the pork burrito bowl and we shared the fried pretzel sticks OMGSOGOOD.

Of course, we all had a craving for something sweet so we stopped at the grocery store for a Pumpkin Pie. Yum. My first pie of the fall.

Saturday morning arrived after about 4 hours of sleep and I decided I’d make a run to the Lake Superior Bakehouse. This might be my new favorite place in Duluth. They had a huge case of baked goods and I was only to pick 3…my what a feat. I went with a pecan caramel roll, scone, and cream cheese frosted cherry coffee cake. BEST CHOICES. I also got the best vanilla latte I’ve ever tasted. I kicked myself though for not thoroughly reading the menu and missing out on the lavender latte (they are my absolute fave). I was almost tempted to get a second latte but didn’t. I should have. Oh well. Next time.

Effffff

Saturday was very relaxing as it was cold AF. Molly and I did a little putzing downtown and went to the Duluth Coffee Company where I got the best decaf mocha and she got the cutest little cappuccino drink. I just want all the warm beverages right now obviously.

2018-11-10 04.14.35 1.jpg

Yum ❤

Saturday finished with a little baking and The Greatest Showman. I’m so mad because I fell asleep about 10 minutes in. I wanted to see that movie so bad.

Sunday came too fast and we arose to more beautiful snow. After a fantastic breakfast at the Vanilla bean (GET the wild rice porridge)  it was on the road and back to the cities.

2018-11-11 02.05.17 1.jpg

Going to try to re-create this!

Every time I visit Duluth I always want to move there. It’s so fun and beautiful, outdoorsy, and relaxing. One of the best places to visit.

I always enjoy getting home after a weekend away though and catching up on laundry, working out, getting back on track with eating and meal prepping. After unpacking all our shit yesterday, I took a trip to the gym for a speedy workout (I haven’t been going during the week on account of I have a baby so it’s nice to go on weekends when Sam is around). Here’s a snap shot of what I did:

15 minute alternating EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute):

Minute 1: 13 Squat cleans

Minute 2: 15 Squat throws

* Every 5th Minute-complete 60 seconds of Slamball Step Ups*

Then…4 sets of 5 reps Sumo Deadlift High Pull

Superset with 4 sets of 10 reps American Swings (heavish)

Then…5 sets of 400 meter sprints on the treadmill

Cool Down with walking and stretching

I loved this workout and am def a little sore today. Give it a try!

Now, I’m hoping to make some gingerbread donuts today if my cranky baby allows.

Have a swell Monday and fantastic week. It’s almost Turkey Day, the best time of year.

XO

Holy Buckets Harry’s 1 Month!

I know people say time flies when you have a kid but shoot, time REALLY flies when you have a kid. Hare Bear turns 1 month in 58 minutes and I’m crying inside. I can’t believe you’ve already been here for an entire month…what was life like without you little guy?

To celebrate, we went to Harry’s weight check this morning. I was hoping he’d be at least 8 pounds 6 ounces…he shocked me and was a whopping 8 pounds 10 ounces! He’s gaining weight finally and I couldn’t be happier. He’s also about 23 inches long and has a good sized head but even better sized appetite (just like his dad).

I am still feeding him about every 2-3 hours except now he’s started to give me noticeable cues for when he’s hungry instead of me choosing when to feed…much easier that way. I still am supplementing with a bottle after every feeding but he hasn’t been taking much from that. I only pump when my boobs feel enormous (ever other feed) or he drinks a ton from the bottle. So, feedings have basically gone from an hour to 25 minutes. Swell.

I did take a few pics of Harry today because, well, duh. He’s a month old and kind of a cutie.

I don’t really know exactly what Harry likes/dislikes because he doesn’t speak yet but here’s my guesses:

Likes: Milk (duh), car rides, walks in nature, his sister Ruthie, snuggling, his dad, pulling hair, being fed, reading stories, being held, and watching sports.

Dislikes: Being changed, hiccups/burping, beans, cold hands and feet, and the Vikings.

Now to celebrate everyone surviving having a baby for a month, I’m off to bake some Chocolate Chip cookies and spaghetti. Have a magnificent Monday night!

Toodles!

Baby Harry’s First 12 Days

Hello!

Last night I got almost 7 hours of sleep (2.5 hours at a time) and am finally feeling pretty rested. Introducing coffee back into my life has been really cool and something I look forward to every morning (only 1 cup, don’t worry). I’ve washed myself every day so far except for one stretch where I went 3 days without washing my hair but a little grease is good for everyone sometimes.

Since bringing Harry (Harold?) home from the hospital, things have been pretty great. I’ve only cried 2 times (once because Sam asked me why I saved 1 egg, once because the dog looked so sad and depressed) and am adjusting to life with a tiny human, working husband, and jealous pup. Ruthie does seem to love Harry so much and is getting more adjusted every day. I try to give her lots of pets and kisses and even spoiled her with some new toys.

2018-10-05 08.14.49 1.jpg

The new norm

I’m trying to get us on a consistent feeding schedule and so far it seems to work best every 3 hours. Breastfeeding is tough stuff. Little Harry will latch on and suck for a little but then some times he’ll just sit there. He has been feeding about 30 minutes each time and def likes the left side better than the right (sorry your mom has an inverted nip buddy). Feeding time is so precious because of the little faces he makes and the baby toots he pushes out. I laugh so hard, he’s just so cute.

He did drop a bit of weight his first week (8 lbs 1 oz down to 7 lbs 3 oz) so I was feeding him then pumping, then feeding him what I pumped from a bottle (that could be a song…ya feed, ya pump, ya feed him that pump…whoop, go Harry, go Harry). That fattened him up to 7 lbs 9 oz…YAY! So now we are just trying to strictly bfeed but sometimes he still seems hungry so I give him a little bottle. Again, I’m trying to take each session as a win and remain calm/stress free. If the kid wants more food, give him more food.

The first few days I sucked at putting on diapers. He kept peeing through them (one time during a feeding and it dripped down my leg…how glam) and I couldn’t figure it out. Turns out I wasn’t putting them on high enough in the butt or closing them tight enough…I didn’t want to cut off his circulation but he seems just fine now that I’ve tightened them 🙂

Harry likes his Mama Roo and snoozing in the pack-n-play. He sleeps in his crib at night with his cactus night light and sound soother and I’m thankful we put him in there right away. His room is right next to ours so any time he wakes up we can hear him.

2018-10-05 08.14.47 1.jpg

My snoozing babes ❤

The weather here has been so fall so we’ve been doing some fall baking to stay busy. I made some homemade pumpkin butter and pumpkin donuts. I’m also going to whip up a batch of Grandpa Marion’s chili this afternoon. YUM. OH, I found a recipe for Tumeric Mocha Hot Chocolate I can’t wait to try this weekend. ALL THINGS FALL YO.

2018-10-05 08.14.45 1.jpg

Made frosting instead of Cinnamon Sugar sprinkle…oops!

Other things keeping us busy…visits with many friends and family (we are so thankful for you all and the meals and chats and snuggles you’ve given), walks with Chels and Milo at the park (so nice to talk to another mom), laundry (at least a load a day due to poop explosions and spitup spills), lavender baths, Target runs, vacuuming, walks with Ruthie, closet organization, and goal planning (I want write a book I think). I could get used to this mom life thing 🙂

I am trying to take it easy and stick to walks right now but am itching to get back into working out. I really want to take 6 weeks off to fully recover but it’s hard for me to rest that long. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY.

This weekend mom and dad are maybe going to go on a date…or maybe not. Sam has been so busy with work (school and his new business-squeegeesam.com check it out) so it’s nice to just hangout at home. I also want to have 1 small glass of wine but I’m SO nervous it will affect Harry! People have told me a glass is OK as long as you wait like 2-3 hours to feed but I’m still unsure.

So, that’s about all that’s new with us. Hoping to get to my parents this weekend for a hike then next week Harry is going to take his first road trip to meet my aunts and uncles and grandparents. Can’t wait.

Have a splendid weekend my friends!

XO

Harrison Charles Wakefield

Oh hi! Heads up, this may be an extra long blog post…lots to share. Grab some coffee, take a seat, and join me in re-living the events that led up to lil Hdubs arrival.

Last weekend I felt so great. Got a prenatal massage on Saturday, cleaned the house, worked out…the whole shebang. Sunday morning I went to the Apple Orchard with my dad and we had a blast. It’s our annual tradition to go to the Maple Leaf Orchard then stop at Cady Cheese Factory in Wisconsin.

I was so pumped because I didn’t think I’d get to the orchard this year on account of the human cooking in my belly. So my dad and I took a convertable ride to the orchard, ate 2 apple donuts (the best MF donuts I’ve ever had), and picked a bushel of apples.

2018-09-28 11.17.54 2.jpg

THE BEST DONUTS EVER.

2018-09-28 11.17.51 4.jpg

I love McIntosh apples so much.

After the apple picking, we headed to the cheese factory and snagged some 5 yr aged chedda, cheese curds, and chive onion colby (hello grilled cheese). A lovely fall day if you ask me.

After getting back to my house I felt so great and full of apples and did a nice little workout, walked the dog, and hung out with Sam and Ruth.

Fast forward to 8:30 PM as we we’re literally hopping into bed and turning off the light…a warm sensation oozed from down there. I instantly thought HOLY SHIT my water broke…but then I wasn’t so sure because it didn’t seem like that much…but then it kept gushing out as I stood in the bath tub. After getting some amazing advice from some girlfriends I called the on-call physician. He said my membrane had ruptured and it was time to pack up and head to the hospital…what!? I wasn’t due for another week. I was so convinced he’d be late.

It was now about 9PM Sunday night. Sam grabbed our stuff, packed us into the car and drove the 15 ish minutes to the Hospital. I still felt just fine…no contractions…I just kept saying “I’m leaking!”

The check-in at the Hospital was so smooth. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I felt so great I was laughing and having a good ole time. A nice nurse named Cindy led us to our room where I proceeded to put my hospital gown on backwards. Sam told me it was backwards and I assured him it wasn’t. The nurse came in and goes “Oh dear, your gown is backwards.” Off to a great start Hale.

Anyway, I was still feeling fine…fast forward to Monday morning. Contractions had finally started but were like 6-7 minutes apart. I tried my breathing techniues but still felt alright for the most part. I like the hospital because it was pretty much all you can eat/drink for your stay. I enjoyed many glasses of chocolate milk, apple juice, iced tea, and water.

Hydration Station

So, lets fast forward a little more…I don’t remember the times but probs late morning contractions started picking up. I told everyone I wanted to do this naturally because I wanted to feel the pain. Let me tell you…the pain was worse than I expected. I thought it would be just a tiny cramp feeling. Heck no. It was literally unbearable. The nurse kept urging us to walk around to get the labor started. But nothing was happening and the contractions were all over the place…enter Petocin. They gave me a dose of that an like instantly everything worsened. THE PAIN. It was awful. Everythime a contraction came I wanted to collapse. Sam was amazing the whole time and I could cry thinking about how supportive he was.

Anyway, about an hour after the Petocin, I couldn’t handle the pain. I caved and asked for the drugs. Best choice ever. I got a dose of Fentanal (no clue how to spell it), and that brought a bit of relief. I felt so weird…like I was floating and had a vision of neon puppies on a door mat. Yeah, weird. I told Sam and he laughed at me.

Next came the Epidural. Let me tell you, I am so thankful for whoever created the Epidural. About 10 minutes after they shot my back, I could not feel a damn thing. I had to ask the nurse if I was having contractions because I didn’t feel an ounce of pain.

Things stayed pretty chill for a while and I even got a rest. Then the nurse came in around 4 pm to check my cervix…we weren’t expecting much but she goes…”well, are you ready to have a baby?” Yes Amber, we are. Sam was shocked but glad he didn’t have time to prepare for the labor.

26 minutes of pushing  and out popped little Harry. I cried. I couldn’t believe he was here. They laid him on my chest and I just couldn’t have felt happier. Side note, pushing was not terrible except for the whole holding my breath for 10 seconds part…that was so hard!

Harrison Charles Wakefield joined us at 5:04 pm September 24th, 2018. He was a whopping 8 pounds, 1 ounce and 21 inches long. Can’t imagine giving birth a week later…he probs would have been like 9 pounds!

The fam got to leave the hospital Wednesday afternoon to a parade. It was the cutest thing ever. Let me tell you, the staff at St. John’s was great and I will def deliver there again if the chance arises 🙂

Baby Parade

Life with a baby is nothing like I expected. Breast feeding has been a challenge but each time gets a little better. Our goal is to fatten him up as he started losing weight pretty fast. He loves to sleep, eat, and hang out in his Mama Roo. It’s been a big adjustment for Ruthie but she’s doing great and is the best protector of Harry.

I am feeling pretty good (I did have to get stitched up a bit but it feels better every day. I’ve taken lots of salt baths and am trying to take it easy. PS post-partum leggins and undies are the best thing I ever purchased, witch hazel pads really cool the bottom, and giant pads are not glamorous. But, you kind of don’t care after pushing a human out.

Ruth, Harry, and I took a nice walk this afternoon and it was such a relief knowing she walks nicely next to the stroller. I also walk at the pace of a snail right now but whatever. It’s nice just to get some fresh air.

Proud Aunt Molly

I know it’s a huge adjustment bringing a baby into this world but I am so excited for all the new experiences and memories we are going to make as a family.

Thanks for your support through this whole process. I’ll try to keep updates as we go along but life might get a little busier.

Hope you are having the best fall ever…I could really go for a PSL or glass of wine 😉

XO

Week 37

Officially 2 little weeks and 4 short days until this baby’s due date. I am getting so so excited and trying to remain calm/not stressed. This weekend I have my final baby shower and cannot wait. It’s also hotter/humid-er than hell right now and my feet have finally started to swell. Swell.

I just had my Dr. Appointment and they said the baby’s heart beat is at 130 and perfecto. They also said he’s probs around 6 pounds…a good size. Nothing got shoved in my bumhole this time so that was cool. Bumhole or rectum or anus? I’m not sure what you call it and Sam won’t tell me because he says I should know.

My belly feels bigger this week and I seem to be slowing down a bit. I’ve also felt some contractions (I think??) which is cray cray. Everything gets realllll tight but it doesn’t hurt yet. I weighed 154 this week and just want to snuggle Ruth, arrange the baby room, and carpet clean.

2018-09-13 06.44.40 1.jpg

There’s a human in there!

Now, lets take a brief moment to talk about last weekends diaper shower. Sam’s school held a gathering for us at a local restaurant and it was fantastic. There was good food, lots of chatting, and SO MANY DIAPERS. I was shocked. The baby’s closet is literally overflowing with diapers and wipes and I could cry thinking about it. People are too kind and we are so grateful for so many wonderful people.

2018-09-13 06.44.42 1.jpg

Dipey Dipey wipey wipey

Now, this week I’ve been having some weird dreams. I dreamt that I was walking Ruthie by this big lake and we came to a cliff and the lake was full of golden retrievers. All of a sudden Ruthie got loose and took off and I thought she drowned in the lake. She ended up turning up a week later from the woods and I couldn’t stop crying. I’ve also only wanted to snuggle Ruthie lately and pet her. Odd? IDK.

I also had a vision after a midnight pee run that I would start to write a book on my maternity leave…perhaps.

Cravings have kind of been back this week. Salads, cottage cheese, malts, and donuts. OH AND PIZZA. All I want right now is pizza. I just got a margarita pizza from Punch with a Greco Salad. I ate half of it and am trying to pace myself. I’m guessing that pizza will be gone before I go to bed tonight…just saying. Sam’s out of town this week so he can’t judge me.

My morning appetite is still absent so I’ve been trying to have an apple and string cheese at least to get something in my belly. I love cheese. I also had donuts twice this week…sue me.

2018-09-13 06.44.48 1.jpg

Added some fruit for good measure

Sam said I was starting to get feisty this week and hissed at me like a cat…all because I didn’t want to move over when he came to join me on the front step. Sounds like his problem 🙂

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the fun things I found at the Munchkin Market last Friday. I was shocked at how not busy it was when I arrived. I took my time and found some really great things. In total I spent $29 and got a snowsuit (that I saw on Poshmark for $50), a MN wild sleeper, a onesie, a cute little pant/sweatshirt set, and some blocks/cars. Sam and I washed everything and are ready to go.

2018-09-13 06.44.46 1.jpg

The baby snowsuit

Lets see, what else has been happening this week…I know what hasn’t…workouts at the gym LOL. I did one on Tuesday and was so over it. I did a 20 min run Wednesday morning and was also over that. So the rest of the week I’ve been taking it easy and did a couple at home workouts. I might hit the gym tomorrow and try something but I might also not. I’ve really loved walking the dog in the morning before work and she’s finally getting used to walking in the dark. It’s our special time together.

That’s about all that’s happened this week. I’m hoping to make some soups and stuff that we can keep in the freezer so when this little guy arrives we won’t have to worry about cooking. Now I’m off to clean the basement carpet because it’s NASTY.

Catch ya later!

-Hales

The 36th Week

Hello!

I just had my 36 week Dr. Appointment and it went well…except for the part where I got tested for some bacteria thing and they shoved a stick in my bumhole. Yeah. I wouldn’t recommend that.

The baby is measuring the right size, heart beat is good, and things seem to be right on track. I weighed in around 153 which means I’ve gained about 23 pounds in the past 9 months. I’m 100% OK with that. After today I have Dr. Appointments every Friday until the due date so can’t wait to see what happens next week.

Now, lets back up to last weekend real fast. Sam and I went to the MN State Fair with his fam and it was a blast! It didn’t even feel that crowded to me. And I survived 5 whole hours there without having a breakdown. So cool.

I drank many waters, got the best chocolate malt from the dairy barn, ate some french fries, walleye fingers, fried pickles, and had a bite of Sam’s pronto pup. All the things were extraordinary. Other things we saw at the fair…goats, cows, and people dodging horse shit. Can’t wait for next year.

2018-09-07 03.50.29 1.jpg

Dairy Queen

Alright, now back to this week. Things still seem pretty good as far as my feelings go. I haven’t had any crazy dreams, I haven’t spazzed at Sam once, I’m still pooping, no hems, and I can sleep through most of the night. Things that aren’t so great…this baby is pushing on my pelvis and it feels like it’s about to split in 2, my feet are getting a little swollen, and I have zero appetite in the morning (I asked the doc and she said that’s normal since my stomach is basically smooshed into my chest). I JUST want to be hungry!

2018-09-07 03.50.28 1.jpg

I’m carrying a puppy!

Cravings have been zero this week. Nothing really sounds good except maybe a donut? I can’t tell. Oh, and chocolate milk and root beer. Other than that…food is just meh.

I’m still managing to get a few good workouts in here and there although I’m thinking I’m going to be doing all at home workouts pretty soon because waking up at 4:30 am is really no fun anymore. I have been trying to take Ruthie for a walk before work now that I don’t start until 7:30 so that’s been a treat. I’ve also been doing a few treadmill “sprint” workouts and did a 2ish mile run on Tuesday. I don’t even care that I’m not running like I used to right now. There will be plenty of time to get back into it.

This week I had my second baby shower with my mom’s side of the family and it was an absolute blast. My mom and I drove over to my Grandma’s house on wednesday and met my 3 aunts for lunch. The food was delicious and I had a really tasty Root Beer. Then we headed back to Grandma’s house for the most delicious cheesecake from a European Bakery my Aunt Linda brought. SO good. There was a chocolate and a cherry and they were equally amazing.

After the cakes were eaten, we played some super fun games thanks to Aunt Polly. There was the frozen babies in ice cubes game and whoever’s melted first was supposed to shout “my water broke!” Grandma Lois won that one 🙂

2018-09-07 03.50.26 1.jpg

Baby Boy!

There was also the Nursery Rhyme game where you had to fill in the blank about nursery rhymes. I def need to brush up on my rhymes. We also played the candy bar game where you have to match the type of candy to the phrase….like Postpartum tummy=jelly belly. I loved this game because I love candy. The final game was pin the sperm on the egg (we’re all adults here, we can handle it). So creative, so fun.

After the games, it was time to head back home. Man, I have the greatest family and Baby wakey is so lucky.

This week I also got to have dinner with my 3 best gal pals and it was just the best. We met a place called The Sonder Shaker in Minneapolis and it was fantastic. The waitress gave some good recommendations and they even made a mock-garita. YUM. I sure miss margs.

All 4 of us split the deconstructed elotes and chips and guac and there was not a crumb left. Baby wakey gets hungry around 6 PM it seems. For the main course I went with the burger because it’s been a while and this burg did NOT disappoint. It had enough cheese, tasty pickles, and the best sweet potato fries. I’d eat that again.

2018-09-07 03.50.24 1.jpg

Burg and Fried

The gals gave me a prenatal massage giftcard (which was the most thoughtful gift ever!) and I cannot wait to use it next week. THANK YOU!!!

Now tonight, I am going to check out this thing called the Munchkin Market. It takes place at the fair grounds in Stillwater, MN and I hear it’s insane. If you’re a new or expecting mom you get in early on Friday so I’m really hoping to find some sweet stuff. Sam and I are also going to buy our travel system this weekend. I’ll update you on that next week.

For now, have a great Friday and PLZ DRINK SOME wine or a margarita for me.

XO
