It’s been a while since my last post. It’s been so long that my old blog actually expired (sad) which brings us here. You might have noticed the change in title of my blogging endeavor…we’ve gone from “Real Running” to “Running withe a Bump”. Yes, I’m growing a little human inside currently. It’s weird, scary, exciting, joyous, and everything in between.
Sam and I found out in January that we would be having a little him or her and it shall grace this earth *hopefully* this October (my personal favorite month). No, we do not know if it’s a little man or woman yet, but we will find that out in a few weeks here.
Let me tell you, the first oh, 3ish months were absolute shit. All I wanted to do was sleep. I had zero appetite (which for me is crazy) and felt like I wanted to vom every second of every day. Thankfully that never happened, especially since puking is so gross. I kept running but took it easy and stopped if I didn’t feel good. I still tried to do my 4:30 am workouts but somedays, that didn’t happen. Yah know what? I am OK with that. I pretty much would wake up, go to work, get home, take the dog for a walk, then crawl into bed at 6:30 PM then wake up and repeat. How boring of me but I’m pregnant so who cares.
Lets fast forward to weeks 15 and 16. Man oh man am I feeling like a new person. More energy, more appetite. I’m still running and working out but again at a less intense pace than normal but it actually feels really good. I am listening to my body it feels good. I’m also staying up til at least 8 PM and I feel so cool, like a big girl. My clothes is starting to get tight but that actually makes me feel good because it lets me know the little one is growing and this all is real.
As for food cravings…MEAT. Like give me a hamburger every day and I’ll forever thank you. I’m also craving NaCl like non-other. Salt and vinegar chips…never would I get close to a bag of those…these days…I feel like I could down a bag in 1 sitting.
See, typically I am a very-into-sugar-and-dessert type gal but I really have not been craving sweets (besides a random Blizzard or Chocolate Taco here and there). Last week I was craving Beef Stroganoff and Pancakes…at the same time. Oh, and Taco Bell. Yum. Give the baby what it wants right?
It’s been really fun and it’s actually pretty fascinating to watch how your body changes every week. Yeah, my chest has grown a bit, my butt feels smooshier, and I def have a little bump but like that’s so neat.
So join me in this pregnancy journey for these next 6 months and beyond. I’m hoping to share stories, what’s working for me and not, and everything else I can. It’ll be a fun and exciting ride and I thank you for coming along.
Oh, by the way, Ruthie is thrilled 🙂
